Primer/Moisturizer-in-one
To even out skin texture before applying mineral powders, apply one pump of Purifying Primer or a dime sized amount of Organic Coconut Cream Primer with fingertips or A Fresh Start or Smooth Things Over foundation brushes across cheeks, around lips (onto ‘laugh lines’) and across forehead.
Mineral Powder Foundation (Loose and Pressed)
Full Coverage Mineral Foundation: For full coverage application with mineral powder foundation use Plush Kabuki Brush*. Dip brush lightly (swirl lightly into powder for pressed) into mineral powder and tap off excess powder. Apply powder to clean, dry face in pressing motion starting on one side of face. Repeat for the other side of face; then blend minerals thoroughly on skin (without additional powder on brush).
*Kabuki brushes are essential to applying our mineral powder foundations. They ensure that powder application looks natural and adheres properly to the skin and they prevent product waste!
Concealer & Brightener
FIRST apply Glow Balm to prep the under-eye area. Ingredients in this product plump up the skin and rehydrate the area. Apply Concealer over GLow Balm using Smooth Things Over Brush to under-eye and eyelid as well as either side of nose and mouth to lift and brighten the face. Go over with a light dusting of mineral foundation around nose and mouth area to blend the concealer with foundation application.
Bronzer (Loose and Pressed)
For a natural bronzed finish to the skin, apply mineral powder bronzer with Plush Kabuki or Work It Out brush. Dip brush lightly (swirl lightly into powder for pressed) into mineral powder bronzer and tap off excess powder. Apply to areas of the face where you want a sun kissed glow (cheeks and forehead). Make sure you have a very small amount of powder on the brush to avoid a ‘dirty face’ effect.
Blush (Loose and Pressed)
To create a natural blushing effect on the cheeks, use Work It Out brush. Dip brush lightly (swirl lightly into powder for pressed) into mineral powder blush and tap off excess. Apply blush to the apple of the cheek and blend up through the cheekbone. Our mineral powders are highly pigmented; therefore, you need half as much on the brush as you would a non-mineral powder product. Always start with less than you think you will need; you can always apply more.
Eye Shadow (Loose and Pressed)
For eye shadow application, use Brush With Greatness, The Eyes Have It, and Lighten The Load brushes. Dip brush lightly (swirl lightly into powder for pressed) into mineral powder shadow and tap off excess. Apply shadow by pressing brush onto lid then blending shadow (mineral powder and shadows need to be pressed onto the skin first before applying or shadow will brush off skin) in specific eye area for desired look.
Eyeliner (Loose and Pressed Eyeshadow)
· Dry: In order to line around the eyes with dry shadow, use Defining Moment brush. Dip brush into powder and tap off excess. Apply to lid (top or bottom) where lid and eyelash line meet. For a more intense but soft line, apply a matching shade of sketchstick first and follow line with shadow.
· Wet: For a strong eyeliner around the eyes, use water or (for a more water-resistant application) and Defining Moment brush. Place a small drop of water into eyeliner in jar (or compact for pressed). Stir with brush until ‘putty’ texture is created. Apply to lid (top or bottom) where lid and eyelash line meet. This technique is wonderful for 'smoky eyes'.
Eyeliner Sketchsticks
These cool sketchsticks can be used as eyeliners or lipliners OR cream eyeshadow (particularly for smokey eyes!). They blend very easily and mix well with our mineral shadows. By layering the two together you will get more depth or pop to the colours you are using. The application will last all day if you set with a matching eyeshadow shade. Because they are avocado oil-based they are gentle enough for sensitive eyes.
Lash Of Luxury Mascara
Curl lashes first with an eyelash curler, preferrably heated, and then apply one coat of mascara to hold the curl. Finish the rest of your makeup and then apply a second coat of mascara, working it from roots to ends and combing it through the lashes in the direction of the temple or outer eye, to 'pull' the outer lashes up and out.
Highlighter
To create a luminous glow to the skin always start with our primer, using A Fresh Start or Smooth Things Over brushes. A luminous glow can also be achieved by choosing a blush or bronzer that has a soft sheen to it (not 'sparkle'). For a more natural 'glow from within', apply a little more Glow Balm to cheekbones, outer temples and browbone With Smooth Things Over brush.
