pre-tan preparation
Tanning Preparation
1. Shower and exfoliate whole body right before tan to make sure it's as clean and soft as possible
2. Shave when u shower or wax day before
3. Avoid wearing make-up, deoderant, perfume and moisturizer as this acts as a barrier to the spray and stops the process from working (deoderant can be applied after an hour or two)
*NOTE* If getting a tan late in the day (after 7pm) is your only option, please be sure to sleep on dark coloured sheets or place a temporary sheet or large towel under you when you sleep. Sweating or drooling may cause light stains (that wash out) but this will not affect your tan as 25-30% of the colour is meant to wash off when you first shower atleast 6 hours later. Feel free to ask as many questions as possible about this process.
What to Wear and Not to Wear
1. Wear dark loose clothing over your bathing suit or what ever you choose to be sprayed in
2. DO NOT wear tight undergarments, socks, shoes or anything else that may cause the tan to rub off in its setting stage
3. Try to avoid wearing a light colured bathing suit or undergarments to avoid staining
4. Apply lip balm
5. Bring an old towel for your car seat (just in case) if getting ur tan in my home or if you must leave the house soon after your in-home tan
*Try to plan your in-home tan on day that you know you will be spending most of time inside
Maintenance
1. Wait atleast 6-8 hours before taking a shower. Very light skinned individuals may shower after 3-4 hours.
2. MOISTURIZING daily is key! Applying a lotion or moisterizer every morning and night will keep your tan the longest and make it fade evenly like a natural tan. Find a Tan Extending moisterizer if possible.
3. Avoid taking very long and very hot baths or showers while you are tanned
4. If you exfoliate regularly, try to scrub lightly and little less often than usual. Exfoliation should really only be done to prepare for you next tan.
