Eye makeup that is too heavy and aggressive defeats the purpose.  Start with the right eyeshadow primer.  I have creating the 'Shea Butter Eye Brightening Quad' as a primer, highlighter, and camouflage all in one.  Start with the beige tone all over the eye and use the other three tones to correct and highlight.  Yellow is best used to highlight the brow bone, white to highlight the inner corners and mobile part of lid.  The pink and beige tones are wonderful for camouflaging undereye darkness.  The blend of natural oils smooths fine lines.

To emphasize them the key is blending and smudging your shadows to create a soft, wide-eyed effect.  The more harsh the line, the smaller your eyes will appear.  Even more important, to keep attention away from darkness, fine lines, or puffiness under the eyes it is important to steer clear of mascara and liner on the bottom lashes.  If you want to create a soft, smokey look, keep liner on the waterline (just above bottom lashes) to emphasize the almond shape of the eye.  It has a beautiful effect.

Be sure to concentrate the eyeliner from the middle of the upper lashine to the outer corner.  Always blend slightly upward and out at the outer corners of the eye to give a subtle lift.  Natural makeup is more creamy than powdery and minerals are the only way to achieve this glowy look naturally.

It helps to keep the brows strong when emphasizing the eyes.  A brow wax or powder is less harsh and longer lasting than a pencil.
